Introduction

Susan Chikanbanjar ("we", "our", or "us") operates the FPL App ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App to track your Fantasy Premier League data.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access or use the App.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Email address: when you create an account or sign in via Firebase Authentication
  • Display name: if provided during registration (optional)
  • FPL Manager ID: your public Fantasy Premier League identifier used to fetch your team data

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers
  • Advertising ID: Google Advertising ID, used for serving personalized ads
  • App usage data: screens viewed, features used, interaction events
  • Crash logs & diagnostics: error reports and performance data
  • Approximate location: derived from your IP address (not GPS), used for ad personalization

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Precise GPS location
  • Contacts, photos, or files from your device
  • Payment or credit card information (purchases are handled entirely by Google Play)
  • Health, biometric, or sensitive personal data
  • Your official Fantasy Premier League account password

How We Use Your Information

  • Account creation & authentication: Email address, display name
  • Providing FPL points, team data & mini-league standings: FPL Manager ID, App usage data, preferences
  • Displaying advertisements: Advertising ID, device info, approximate location
  • Processing in-app purchases (ad removal): Purchase tokens (handled by Google Play)
  • Push notifications for deadline & score updates: FCM token, notification preferences
  • App improvement & bug fixing: Crash logs, performance data, usage analytics

Third-Party Services

Our App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Firebase Authentication: for user account management. Firebase Privacy Policy
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): for push notifications
  • Google AdMob: for serving advertisements. Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Play Billing: for processing in-app purchases
  • Firebase Crashlytics: for crash reporting and diagnostics

These services may collect information about your device, including your Advertising ID, IP address, and usage data. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

Advertising

The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your Advertising ID and other device information to deliver personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings:

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

Users who purchase the ad-free option through in-app purchase will no longer see advertisements, and their Advertising ID will no longer be used for ad serving.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers: third-party services listed in Section 4 that help us operate the App
  • For legal reasons: if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • To protect rights: to enforce our policies, protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Specifically:

  • Account data: retained until you delete your account
  • Usage & analytics data: retained for up to 14 months (per Firebase Analytics defaults)
  • Crash logs: retained for up to 90 days

When you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission via HTTPS/TLS
  • Secure authentication through Firebase
  • Server-side access controls and role-based permissions

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email address below.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt-out: opt out of personalized advertising via your device settings
